Pinnacle Group Limited (PGL) has been at the leading edge of quality development in general practice for over twelve years. Over this time the organisation has amassed unparalleled expertise in the design, implementation and evaluation of quality programmes (incorporating both process and outcome measures). PGL was the first organisation to stand behind a general practice network as they went through the initial process of becoming Cornerstone™[1] Accredited by the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP).
PGL provided extensive support to the Pinnacle Incorporated general practice network throughout the process of obtaining Cornerstone™ Accreditation. This included the development of policy and procedure templates, assisting practices in completing a self-assessment against the Aiming for Excellence™ standard and subsequent implementation of an action plan to ensure the requirements for accreditation would be met. In preparation for the accreditation visit, PGL Quality Facilitators completed a "mock assessment" with the practice, supported the practice through the external assessment process and offered assistance during the post assessment phase to rectify identified areas needing attention.
This comprehensive approach led to a network wide accreditation achievement. PGL is therefore in a strong position to offer quality support to other organisations seeking accreditation, having the experience, the tools and the personnel to assist practices achieve the highest level of success.
